Tastes of London: La Fromagerie

My mama came to visit us in London for a month and it was so much fun to share the city we call home with her. London never disappoints and there’s so much good food to be had around every corner.

My mom fell in love with this little gem, located in Marylebone, just North of the fancy department stores on Oxford Street. We had two very special lunches here and finished them off with affogatos - the managed the perfect balance of bitter espresso with vanilla ice cream. I do not think I’ve ever had a better one and I lived in Italy.

In my very first journey to London in 2008, I came solo and had read about La Fromagerie in a magazine and headed there for my first dinner out on the town. They are an upscale cheese and grocery full of exquisite nibbles. I remember ordering a ‘grown-up’ cheese toastie and prosecco with creme de violette. It’s one of those moments forever seared in my memory, feeling like an adult on my own in an international city I feel in love with. Who would’ve guessed I’d meet the love of my life in 2015 and settle down here?
