Salty Lime Soda

As the weather turns warmer and we head into summer, headaches and migraines may increase for some. I recently read an article about the salt cure & migraines. This article brought me back to my time in India in 2014. I spent 2 months working with an Ayurvedic doctor, Dr. Mishra in the city of Bhopal. This doctor held a PhD in Ayurvedic medicine, specializing in migraines. I was really intrigued to study with him.I learned that many people suffer from headaches and migraines when they have low blood pressure, low blood sugar or are dehydrated. Migraine.com also noticed a connection between salt and headaches. I suffer from these as well.

In India, the quick fix is a salty lime soda –which is delicious by the way. This is a natural electrolyte drink without added colors and high fructose corn syrup and it’s extremely cheap to make. In addition, Dr. Mishra suggested headache sufferers drink 2L of water each day to flush toxins out of the system. He explained that headaches happen due to a build up of toxins in the body. So try this homemade soda if you have a headache and make drinking LOTS of water your daily habit!
